Lima Radiator

2000 XLT 2.5 2wd 5speed 180k miles

The cooling system has been bad on the truck for awhile..I flushed the coolant out multiple times and unstuck the thermostat some. So I now can get heat again. I was in the process of pulling the housing when I stripped a bolt because I'm an idiot. Got tools READY for that job. But last week I noticed the system pressurized and pushed out the cap when I shut the truck off. No big deal refilled it and just assumed it was because the thermostat was opening and closing or maybe some leftover air...

Came out to a puddle the size of baseball After 2days of sitting. Truck has never leaked before. Alright well crap so looked around. Looks like the seam where the plastic meats the radiator crapped out.

So the question is: Which offbrand radiator is the best drop in unit. I absolutely hate buying Carquest, Duralast, and Dorman. Tolerances suck. Bolts don't line up etc. Just looking for a decent easy no hassle drop in piece. I may end up having a used oem one shipped but id like to put new in if possible.

Looks like a single core, so correct for manual trans with no AC

Not sure if there is a best brand vs cheapest brand, whatever's on sale is what I usually buy, as long as uyou change the coolant every two years and reverse the heater core hoses they last as long as they last

The 2.3l/2.5l Limas don't generate much heat, hard to even keep the heater working well in cold weather, lol
The block metal and head is thick so absorbs and bleeds alot of the heat generated by the engine

If you were getting pressure bleed off via rad cap I would do a Glove test just to make sure you don't have a cylinder leaking into cooling system

I have some on hand I can mess with in the morning. I dont believe I have a blown headgasket but takes 10min lol.

I plan on ordering a Kilmoto one off Amazon (mostly the fast shipping and lifetime warranty for 130 bucks)

Gasket set you can recommend if I do have to go to Armageddon? Don't work on Fords much. Chevy likes Fel pro but Subaru seems to leak with anything less than oem etc. 😂

Fel-pro is good for me, no complaints
