Icon9 94 2.3l 5sp, stalls

Orginal problem with missing, rough idle, replaced wires, coil pack ,plugs, ICU(solved most of the problems) was also getting other codes related to EGR, replaced EGR Vac. sensor, DPFE, cleaned and test EGR, installed new gasket for EGR. Now engine will run fine at idle for 20 -30 minutes or 5 -10 min. driving. It stalls and will not restart. Have to let it completely cool down and it will restart and run run good for another 20 min. I connected the old ICU and grounded it to see if it would restart but no luck. I also replaced the ECU and fuel pump relays, fuel filter, the fuel pump(what a pain.) Still have the same issue. I will try to spray starter fluid next time after it stalls, but I really don't think it is a lack of fuel issue because when it does stall you can smell gas. Hope that some one else has been down this road and know of a possible fix. I hate to spend the bucks on a ECU(computer) but I don't know what to try next. Thanks in advance for help.

When it does run..... does it idle rough? I would try some carb cleaner and see if you don't have a vac leak or two.

also next time it stalls, unplug the maf and see it starts up.

i had an issue like that, after driving for a few minutes i would shut it off then when i went to restart it a few min later i would refuse to start. spray ether would let it stumble but not start when hot. found out my fuel pump relay was bad. put in new and works fine now.
had another truck that had a problem that it would not start when hot but would stay running if i did not shut it off. turned out ecu was bad in that one. found a junk yard unit installed it and fixed this trucks problem.
sounds like a fuel system issue, bad relay or pump about to go out. or maybe just a dirty filter?

As stated in my post, I did change the fuel pump relay and fuel pump. The problem turned out to be the ICU, the new one I put in had a problem. The second one I put in worked.
