I have an older ranger a '93 and maybe u guys can help me out with a problem. When i turn on my AC the truck shakes like it's about to turn off. At first it had a slight shake when i turned on the defrost tried looking for a vacuum leak but found nothing. Any ideas? Does any one have a diagram of the vacuum lines? thxs.

 

sounds like your compressor is shot and when it engages the clutch it last to much drag and wants to stall out the truck. in other words you need a new compressor

 

going to replace the compressor in a few days. Anyone know what i need to retrofit it to r134? Any how to pictures would be very helpful.

napa sells the retro fittings, and you need to get different oil also.

make sure you flush out everything and replace the orfice tube. i believe it will require pag 46 oil.

 

I'm jealous that you even have an a.c lol
