Accel coil packs arnt cheap

Accel coil packs arnt cheap
Simple question. I have a 96 ford ranger 2.3 with the dual plug setup. It has two sets of coil packs. One runs the engine, and the other is for emmisions. So in an effort to save money... Can I just upgrade the one coil pack that runs the engine to a accel pack. Or do I have to change both. I figured it wouldn't hurt, but I just wanted some assurance. Thanks
