Crankshaft position sensor replacement

94 2.3l.

Trying to replace the crankshaft position sensor. I have all covers off and timing belt removed and the old sensor is free. Bracket is removed also. The cable goes through a small opening between the block and bracket for the a/c and power steering pump. Does one have to remove or loosen that mounting bracket to get the position sensor cable through?

Yes, you need to get enough room to slide the connector thru

Removing the A/C bracket is a pretty easy thing to do.

As I found out. And makes access to the #1 spark plug much easier.

Now the unfortunate thing is that I broke the sensor mount!! I thought the mount was on the block when I tightened the bolts..Fortunately, thee's a good welder where I work Live and learn. Maybe!.

Thanks all!
