Flowmaster 40 on 2.5L
That doesn't sound too far off. The super 40 I put on my stock pipes isn't all that much louder than stock. But It is noticeable. I think you need to give it a bit longer. Mine has seemed to get a little louder in the last few weeks. FWIW I think it sounds pretty good.
i got the 40 series on my 01 2.3 just for something different.it sounds ok,its a 4 cyl so it it is what it is.im too much of a hillbilly to have a quite vehicle so i had to do something.i have it sticking out in front of the rear passenger tire.its getting to the point where i might get the exhaust redone and get some tips out the back.

I chopped off my over axle pipe and just dumped it at the muffler. It's slightly louder, but I was really wanting to get a loud exhaust. I'd be better running no muffler.
I started the truck after I hacked the stock muff off. It sounded ricey and like a$$. When I bolted the flow up it was not all that much quieter outside the truck, but it had a nice throaty sound . IMO straight pipes SUCK

Cool, I texted my buddy and I am gonna get it from him on Monday or so when I get back to college. Probably be a couple weeks before I have time to put it on but the first chance I do I will get a vid of how it sounds.

You know what would be cool, if we had a thread with links to different videos of different mufflers on different motors. Just an idea. It would let people thinking about getting a certain set up listen to what someone else on here has. Just a thought.
