Idling problems on a 93 and 94 2.3L Ranger

Ok so my grandfather's ranger (94) and my 93 ranger (both 2.3L manual trannys) both tend to randomly miss fire when idling now I've replaced my spark plugs and the fellow that owned my truck before me replaced the wires but whatever either me or my gpa do nothing seems to work. I've also cleaned my throttle body and idle air control sensor. That being said on top of this miss fire my truck also idles high and when going above 25 mph will lobe while idling about 200 to 300 rpm untill it settles at about 1500 rpm till I stop then the truck will idle at 1100. My truck also reads that the motor is just above cold at all times, unless i'm in stop and go traffic with the ac on it doesn't get past the quarter way mark on the gauge and when it does go past there the motor drops rpms and then cools itself back below the quarter way mark and will idle high again. Since its a 93 and my gpa's is a 94 we can't take our trucks anywhere to have them check our check engine lights so I'm kinda hoping that someone here will know either what i'm talking about or what the issue might be and how to fix it.

Sounds like Engine Managment Temp Sensor in the intake or MAP Sensor or a poss vacuum leak take some carb cleaner and while engine idles spray vacuum lines and mating surfaces if idle picks up u found your leak.

well i bought a code reader for my truck and the hard code for the "key on engine off" is 327 which means my egr is receiving under the minimum voltage maybe that could be it? The question is how do I fix it and my grandfather's truck was as simple as new sparkplugs one of which was cracked

Try unhooking the EGR and see if there is a diff.I took mine off completly on my 87 2.3 5 speed manual used a oil galley plug to seal the port, runs great and gets better mileage now .I'm still leaning towards The Engine Managment Temp Sensor tho.Mine would start and idle like it's suppose to but when the thermostate opened up and hot water started flowing instead of idling down it picked up 600 to 700 rpm's replaced that sensor and it works fine now.You could have a problem with your thermostate also,GOOD LUCK n let me now how you made out.
