Power Steering Pressure Line Replacement

Power Steering Pressure Line Replacement
I have a 1996 Ranger XLT 2.3 4x2. When I purchased it there was a power steering leak. I replaced the Power steering pump and found that the leak was with the pressure line. While replacing the pressure line the fitting that goes into the the steering rack will not fit flush no matter how much I try to tighten it down. I have verified that the pressure line is the correct one - or at least the one that O'Reilly's says is the right part. Any one seen this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I literally just replaced mine on a 94 2.3. It wasn't horrible but it sucked. I got mine at oreillys also. The only thing I can think is that you're trying to put the high pressure line into the return from the rack. Mine fit with no problem. The high pressure line goes into the fitting farthest forward. The steep bend could give trouble to if it doesn't seat down in the crevice. Hope you get it fixed.
