hey guys.. i searched and read a bunch of threads about starts and idles but they werent quite enough for me... anyway my 95 4cyl,2wd, nothing special w/ac truck has a tough time starting... if it is cold it has to crank alot and you must feather the gas, once its running you must keep the rpms up for a min or two then it seems to smooth out and will idle fine w/o you working it. when its been run a while and shut down it will start easier next time, but still cranks excessively.. once its running and warms it all good and no issues... fyi- new plugs and wires, altenator and battery... thanks for any help

ive had a similar issue, where i had to feather the pedal to get it started, i cleaned the IAC valve and i never had the problem again.

 

iac valve..thats the one at the back of the eng on/by the throttle body- correct? if so i pulled it and cleaned in and out last weekend...ill pick up a filter and throw that on, im sure t hasnt been changed in years..i just got this little truck for a cheapo commuter, hasnt been quite as cheap as i had hoped since it had problems with smog and a couple other quirks...still have alot to do to make it a descent/comfortabl DD..thanks guys
