1995 rough idle/slow return to idle

Hey im new to this forum, but i just bought a 1995 ford ranger 2.3l 5 speed manual. Its got a few problems:

- Rough idle
- Takes awhile to return to idle when i pull up to stoplights and such

So far iv tried:

- Cleaned iac
- Cleaned throttle body
- Checked for vacuum leaks (didnt find any)

Im assuming that these two problems are probably related, but im not sure. I also haven't checked the plugs yet. Any suggestions? Thanks

Your 1995 should have the EEC-V computer, and OBD II diagnostics

So it may have the "5mph high idle thing", lol, technical name
This computer software holds the idle high when shifting gears and anytime you are above 5MPH.

If this is not the case then warm up engine and unplug IAC Valve, engine RPM should drop to about 500, or engine may stall either one is fine it means no vacuum leaks.
If it stays high then you do have a leak, leave IAC disconnected while looking for it.

Other possibilities are throttle cable sticking or cruise cable.
Spring for throttle plate broken or weak.
