Where is the water temp sensor at?

On my 2.5L, does anyone know where the water temp sensor is? I am wanting to get an aftermarket guage and can't figure out where the darn thing is at. I just want to tap into the current sensor so the one in the dash still works.

The stock sensor probably runs a different voltage output that the aftermarket gauge reads. You would need to buy a sensor from the same company to run the gauge properly.

Well that sucks then. Maybe I will just get a vaccum gauge instead. How about the oil sending unit? I have heard that people can just hook their wires to the one on the truck already and they work.

if your 2.5 is like my 2.3 then it should be screwed into the block. its on the drivers side of the motor, back towards the fire wall. it has one wire coming off of it. that is the sensor for the gague on the dash. there is another sensor for the computer that is located closer to where the thermostat is at. but like was mentioned before just taping into if for a aftermarket gague probably will not work.
