1997 Ford Ranger abs light on
1997 Ford Ranger abs light on
Today, on my way to work, my 1997 Ford Ranger abs light came on and stayed lit. What direction should I head in? Will Forscan read the ABS code? Any advice or advising much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I have 2 wheel abs, also known as rear wheel abs for my 1997 ford ranger. Any way of testing the sensor?

No, Forscan can not read RABS because its not connected to OBD2 wiring, 4WABS is
RABS resets itself with each Key off and on
Simple test would be to turn on the key, ABS light should come on(bulb test) and then go off, if it stays on then probably not rear axle sensor, problem is in the module or valve
If it stays off then start to drive, if ABS light comes on after moving then probably is the rear axle sensor failing
Not bullet proof, lol, if the rear axle ABS sensor is unplugged or has a broke wire, externally or in the sensor then ABS light would come back on without moving
Google: Ford Ranger RABS test port and codes
Several good videos and how-tos out there
If the Red Brake light on the dash comes on the ABS light will as well, Red light means Parking brake is on or Master is low on fluid, so ABS might not work

I checked brake fluid level. That is good. I googled: Ford Ranger RABS test ports and codes. I watched a youtube video about grounding the #9 fuse (left prong) in the dash fuse panel. The ABS light DID NOT flash a code....
I am having troubles finding the orange/black wire to throw the abs code(s).... any idea where I should be looking for the abs diagnostic connector with the orange/black wire that I am suppose to ground?
We have a 1997 ranger SLT 2.3 manual with the same abs light on since we bought it a 7 months ago. No OB2 code or check engine light.
fuse 9 (10amp) was blown and when replaced - still have light on. doing same troubleshooting now!

I have looked and looked and I can not find a diagnostic connector with orange and black wire... any ideas? I am desperate, please help....
