Knocking noise in front--Please help

1999 Ranger XL 2 wheel drive, with 2.5 four cylinder engine and automatic.94000 miles.

Bought this truck for my son and just had recently noticed alot of squeaking in the front when I would go over bumps and more so over speed bumps. The problem was bushings and we have that problem solved, problem is that now I'm starting to here a knocking noise. It's getting worse and you can feel it in the steering wheel. It's more noticable when I pull into my gravel drive. Dosen't seem to be any worse when turning. Could it be wheel bearings or tie rod. Thanks

My bet is lower ball joints. About the right mileage.

Watch them as you jack it.

Any play=bad.

Have your boy rock the wheel while you look.
Have him move the steering wheel too.

You'll see something.

Did you check the sway bar links at all? My family owns an auto supply store and I sh*t you not, we see probably 3-4 sets a week for rangers.
