Absolutely my preference, but since guys have been waiting, I wanted to offer the option rather than posting that I sent them back and have guys say they would have preferred to just get them.

I'm a total perfectionist, and I've come to realize that a lot of people aren't as picky as I am, so I didn't want my pickiness to make anyone wait longer than necessary if they didn't care.

Me too.

bfd's_ranger 01-08-2012 03:41 PM

I'll wait, I'd rather have a perfect part than a rushed one.

ME00Stepside 01-08-2012 07:14 PM

Alright, I'm going with this: I'm going to drop them all off unless anyone tells me they don't want to wait. I'm hoping it's only a few days before I have them back, but I want them correct.

I can wait also - don't need any odd forces on that bit of the LCA...

From the photo, it kinda looks like that may have sprung back from welding shrinkage -- Working the welds on a fixture may help or future runs of this same bracket.

It's definitely a bending problem, not a welding shrinkage issue, and all pieces are welded using jigs to hold things squarely where they need to be.

I'll get it straightened out, and make sure that any future batches are made with better bending accuracy.

OK. All is well. Brackets are straightened out. Dropping them off at the powdercoater this afternoon (except for those that are going out raw).

Stay tuned!

You need a truck first. You gonna do a coilover on the car?

no i don't need a truck first. I'd rather have everything and then buy the truck so it doesnt look STOCK for more than a week
but i may do coilovers on my car soon anyway since the suspension needs to be replaced

Let me know ASAP, by either sending me a PM, or posting here. If some guys want them as is, and some guys want them fixed, that's not a problem at all.

I've been away from the forum for a few days...

I can wait - no problem.

ME00Stepside 01-12-2012 06:53 AM

Scott, if you look at the bottom of the last page, I've already picked them up from being corrected. It was very quick. I was almost prepared for a week or so to get them back, but he got them straightened out in one day, and they look great.

Black mamba 01-12-2012 11:26 AM

He still making guests?

ME00Stepside 01-12-2012 11:55 AM

He's making gussets, yes. LOL.

I should have everything back from the powdercoater by the end of next week, and the gussets before then. Unfortunately, the powdercoater is very busy, so the turn around is a little more than I had hoped, but he said he'd try to get them done as quickly as possible. I've got all the hardware separated and bagged, and barring any new unforseen setbacks, I should be able to get them all shipped by next weekend.

I want a set and I don't even have a Ranger now.

ME00Stepside 01-16-2012 06:43 AM

OK guys, updates time:

1) All of the raw ones are sitting in their shipping boxes waiting to go. Just waiting on gussets, which I should have within a day or two.

2) I'm expecting to be able to pick up the ones from the powdercoater by Friday.

3) I'm going to be ordering the stock for the second run this week, as I've gotten a few inquiries over the past few days.

4) Unfortunately, after the first run, I got some feedback from the welder and the cutter that future runs will cost me a little bit more, so I am updating pricing for future orders and here it is:

Brackets in black powdercoat, gussets, grade 8 zinc plated hardware, and spacers: $290
Brackets without powdercoat, gussets, grade 8 zinc plated hardware, and spacers: $270
Upgrade to grade 18-8 stainless steel hardware: add $10

Shipping:
$11 continental US
$28 Canada

Now that one run has been done, things should go a little smoother.

I'll keep updating on the current orders until they ship, and everyone will receive a tracking number for their order.
