Do all of the bolts require Two flat washers a lock washer and nut ?

Im still waiting on my hardware... I was told i would get it shipped to me about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I just got back from vacation and still nothing.........

That's sucks that y'alls stuff didn't come with hardware.

My stuff came last week, not impressed. Stuff's not centered, splatter not cleaned off, just looks rushed imo. Let's hope they fit.

I would use Grade 8 hardware and two flat washers and a nyloc nut.

Your right on the lock nut instead of the lock washer which tend to split and fall out.

Use the metal grade 8 lock nut instead of the Nylocs.

Just me.

I still need two bolt lengths, but here's what I'm going to use:

4 - 1/2 x 2 3/4 Grade 8 Bolts
6 - 1/2 x ?? Grade 8 Bolts
8 - 3/8 x ?? Grade 8 Bolts

20 - 1/2 Grade 8 Flat Washers
16 - 3/8 Grade 8 Flat Washers

10 - 1/2 Grade 8 Nyloc Nuts
8 - 1/2 Grade 8 Nyloc Nuts

I will update the list tomorrow when I get the bolts.

yeah, I was disapointed in the quality of the welds in general. I know they will work, but they sure dont look very good.

I was also told that they were supposed to come with hardware... obviously that didnt happen. lol

Oh well.

Hardware needed to install:

4- 1/2"x3" (shock bolts)
4- 1/2"x1.25 (upper bracket drilled holes through back)
2- 1/2"x2.25 (upper shock mount through top)
8- 3/8"x1.25 (lower bracket)

10- 1/2" metal lock nuts
20- 1/2" steel grade 8 washers

8- 3/8" metal lock nuts
16- 3/8" steel grade 8 washers

ALL HARDWARE SHOULD BE GRADE 8
This is what I was able to research for you guys to make things a little easier. Do you guys think that this should be something ORW should offer with the shocks if Jacob isn't so that you have everything at the time of installation.

IMHO...
It is a nice thought but the only thing I can see that you might want to consider would be the actual shock mounting bolts, ORW has no responsibility to supply a kit of bolt for special kit.

I think this is a great idea. I know I would have bought the kit.

I don't think Nick is offering the bolts free of charge, just as an added option.

Yes, I understood that.
ORW is nice to offer but then again how many Bolt Kits would they sell, how many people will make a Coil-Over Brkt Kit just like Jacob’s, how many of the people that buy the Coil-Over Brkt Kit will buy the Bolt Kit or how many are already installed. Most guys want to get their own bolts because of the way they want it to look or work or for some other guy reason.

Okay, I see what your point was now. Although I assume that ORW has the bolts readily available given their specialty, which means it does not matter how many they sell. Then again maybe I am completely off base. I am sure you've noticed that ORW is all about customer service, this is just another example.

As you can tell I am an ORW fan.

No, that's the first I've seen that thread and post. I took care of those potential issues with mine before I had them powdercoated.

I can say no-one is perfect, and my bracket's are fixed and hopefully will be on the truck this weekend. I started that thread, and I was really surprised at how ridiculous people can get. As I stated in that thread. THe ranger forums on the net are supposed to be a place for sharing mods, maintenance. What goes on over on RPS seems to be some drama.

OFF ROAD WAREHOUSE WILL NOW BE OFFERING THE COIL-OVER CONVERSION BRACKETS AND HARDWARE.

I just received an e-mail from Jacob yesterday asking me if ORW would be interested in making the coil-over conversion brackets. I told him that this has been something that we had started to look into, like some of you know and should be finished this week. I'm hopping to have a few sets cut out by Saturday and have more available in 2wks. The parts will all be cut out using a water jet and then mig welded. Should be a nice piece when finished. The cost should be relatively close to the same, with the exception that they will come with hardware. As soon as I get a price, you guys will be the first to know.
I'm also thinking of offering a package deal with the shocks which will offer even more savings for RF members that are still interested in doing the conversion.

Drama?

More like a group of guys with more experience in the welding department than Shadow. I'm in the process of learning how to weld and they look like that...

that doesn't mean you have to act like an ***...like some of them did. There's a difference in explaining to someone a fault they identify, passing on knowledge AND being cocky, imature, and rude. That's what I didn't like. The way they came across was wrong.
