Deaver Spring?

Deaver Spring?

has anyone heard of this? its supposed to be a 2" rear lift. why would you only want to raise the rear?

deavers are very good quality leaf springs

they are used when u lift the front of u're truck..otherwise the rear would look saggy

they flex awesome,i'm considering getting a set

Nothing, unfortunately.

Superlift, RCD, Bodylift, SAS. Unfortunately there is not much for 4x4'ers.

you could go the Long Travel route...which i may consider....

that would help...

but i kinda like trucks that look stinkbug...my *** is always saggin...i dunno

i just dont understand the point because what kind of lift is gonna only lift the front?

a suspension lift

alright....superlift just lowers u're tbars down (in theory)....u still have them, but they're lower, in which it RAISES the front of u're truck....

RCD totally replaces the front suspension (more or less) and u install coilovers...

Spindle lifts are only for 4x2's, as our driveshaft to the wheels wont allow for this kind of lift....they lift the front by kind of "adding space" between the upper and lower cross member

then theres the long travel crowd....the front suspension is sorta like the RCD lift...there's hardcore coilovers, and lower control arm replacement

then the body lift....derr...u know what that does

but all of these just lift the FRONT....rear leaf springs are really simple...

u either can add blocks under them to LIFT, add a shackle to LIFT, or opt for totally new springs that will LIFT (like the deavers)

To answer your original question (which no one has addressed) of "why would you only want to raise the rear?", this is usually done for looks. It gives you what's called the "raked" look. The vehicle is higher in the rear than the front and looks slanted downward as you go from rear to front. That look used to be real popular, as far back as at least the 50's. Same answer for your later question of why only raise the front -- its usually done for looks, to get the opposite (obviously) of the raked look.

Actually on a 2wd spindle lift, all it does on the steering knuckle is lower the spindle 3" closer to the lower control arm. It has nothing to do with the crossmembers.
