Need Input!!! Urgent...

My brother installed a leveling kit that included on the front 2.5" coil spacers and on the back 2" shackles. He also installed Rancho shocks RS5000 on 1" to 2.5" of lift. The problem he's having now is that every time he takes a hole or a bump on the street the front end bounces very hard, up to the point that the upper arms hit the chasis traveling up. Any ideas on how to fix this, or at least minimize the travel so the arms won't hit the chasis?

Thanks in advance!!!

did he change shock lengths in the front too? If so the upper A-arm might be hitting the frame while travelling DOWN if he installed longer shocks

uhhh huh, In reality a coil spacer isnt a lift. It is adding preload which changes ride height, not geometry so the shock needs to stay stock length.

By adding a longer shock you are now bottoming out the shock when you hit full bump. Also over extending balljoints at full droop.

Thanks a million man!!! The problem that he has now is that he modified the lower mount (cut the holes to fit the lower screws) so he cannot return them!!! So pretty much he's screwed, he has to buy new ones!!!

Thank you again for your help!!!!

Always hate to see that. Longer shocks when not needed. Not that difficult to understand when and when not to use longer shocks lol. Oh well. Live and learn folks.

sad thing is there are companies out there that say you need longer shocks. Like the people who sell "lift keys"
