Replacing ball joints

My front end started creaking real bad this week and from searching I've figured it's probably the ball joints. What I'm wondering is if I should replace them right away or is it ok to drive it and deal with the noise for awhile? I ask because I don't have the money to spend right now with hours getting cut and I'd like to wait til work starts picking back up.

its best to get the replaced right away but since you just started noticing them you can get away with putting it off for a little while, maybe like 5k miles is as much as i would go as long as youre not to rough on them

Leave it go too long and you'll also be buying new front tires.

Check your sway bar bushings at the frame also. They are a major source of creak.
