I'm talking the place i'm going through can make/get me the yota stuff for cheap. That is their speciality. I can't get the D44 parts for cheap. I don't have a hook-up on those axles. Plus If I get lifetime warranty stuff, if I break it, it's free.

Why risk breakin yota axles when parts for d44's are way more common?

I'm not saying you don't have money, and if you're not saying it, why are you going the wrong way with a build that should only go one way? D44 is the correct setup for what you want, go another way and be prepared to hear **** from other people.

I'll say it again, do it right the first time with a d44 up front. None of this yota bullsh!t. Only thing yota on your truck should be the IFS steering box from a yota. That's it.

There has to be a reason no one else would want to run a yota front end on a ranger. Think about it.

Passenger side drop...that's the reason. They are good axles...but.....new transfer case, getting adaptors made because advance adaptors doesn't make the adaptors, hoping it clears your exhust....more... The cost of having a yoda center chunk with new tubes and having it be driver drop and keeping the lengths right so you can easily locate replacement parts. What outers? Those are my thoughts.

i say if you can build an axle strong enough, and cheap enough whatever axle it is, more power to ya. every axle has its limits. remember to consider not only the initial cost, but future costs including maintenance as well as breakage.

if you make a true real world comparison and the numbers work out for you, then do what you do. custom builds dont alway hafta follow mainstream thought, that in itself doesnt make it wrong...

what was said above is someone whos knows a thing or two

take this from me, a guy who has a built yota with 30spline longs and wheels the prolly the hardest trails in the country the hammers in socal

do not put toyota axles under ur truck u will spend more on ur axles than u would gettin 2 front dana 44s and to have a custom fron housing made will cost u at least 400 the longs lets call it 700 cause u have to run bobbylong hub gears as well to have the warrenty
the third member depending on what gears lockers and brand wil cost atleast 300 that alone ur up to 1400 plus labor setup and allthe stupid little stuff like brakes hubs perches shock tabs plus u have a 4.0 ur gonna break the ring and pinion fairly easy unless u get cryoed gears not to mention that u wanna run 6 in allpro springs ur truck is entirely too heavy in the front my friend thos springs are designed for a 2.4 4cyl truck

so i suggest u either get a d44 or d60 up front with a 14 bolt in the back

Of course, you can always dump the 5r trans and run a 700R4 ( I believe someone on here already has that combo. I think it's Wayne) but this will cost a pretty penny.

BTW, Didn't you just put a Superlift liftkit in your truck? I'd say enjoy it. Anyone who assumes you can't wheel with this kit is a complete fool. Why don't you run it, wheel it break some stuff first, then give up on it. Hell, I've wheeled the hell out of my IFS and it keeps comin' back. Compared to a Nissan or the Toyota IFS, what we have is much stronger and more resilient.
i've wheeled mine pretty good, not that hard.. 7 cv shafts prove its not THAT great of a setup... with how my truck is setup atleast

exactly, do you want to pay for CUSTOM axles every time you break one? you can go to a few junk yards and pull spare shafts from F150s all day before you break even on a few sets of custom shafts

I have 37's on mine. They fit perfect and I still have plenty of Articulation. The major difference is the handling, or should I say lack of. It's All what you want to do though. If you have the money, time, skills, and patience to do one the right way, there the best lift possible. I love mine, but it's a different world up there.

they never did it depends on what year truck it is and if they perhaps did a motor swap to a tacoma motor
the front output for the driveshaft is on the driverside cause the exhaust is routed on the pass. side u probly saw someone that did a 3.4 motor swap into an 2nd or 3rd gen toyota

I told him to do the exact same thing, but for some reason he wanted to run the 8" yota, said he could get a good deal on the stuff, I told him to run a D-60 up front with a 14 bolt rear, but from what he said he is pretty set on the 8" yota, don't know why tho.
