Shock question

I have a 98 2WD regular cab and am in need of new shocks. I would like to get something a little better than stock. I was looking at the Pro Comp ES9000 but have seen a lot of mixed reviews. I don't plan on changing the ride height, just want to improve the ride and handling. Any suggestions?

Take a look at Bilstein or KYB. They tend to be a little stiffer but are a great upgrade.

I just ended up going with the pro comp es1000s for now. Eventually I might actually drop it a little after some digging around. I will spend the money on nicer shocks when I do that. For now I'm just trying to get the truck back in good shape. I appreciate the reply though. I'm starting to see there isn't much activity on this forum.

? I wonder what kind of forums you usually hang at, I'm on a forum for like every walk of my life (computers, vending machines, guns, motorcycles, my saturn, my dodge....) and 5 of them are ranger forums LOL my new hobby and this one is by far the most active ranger forum.

Shocks are only a small part of overall suspension performance and though I have never put a shock on a ranger I bet 18 out of 20 brands would seem similar on a truck so light.

After extensive research for my driving style I put regular monroe sensa tracks on my dodge 4wd and saved a few hundred.

Maybe its that I haven't been on a forum in a while. I have made 2 posts asking questions so far and got zero replies on the first and now finally a few days later got a few on this one. Back in the day I would have gotten tons of replies within hours. People used to be eager to share knowledge. Now they write a report on why you should use the search button and then get mad when you revive an old thread because you had a question haha.

This is the first Ive seen your question. Cant say Ive seen your other (may go look for it). But alot of us will help when we see the question. The ranger forums have slowed down alot in the last couple of years. Most have either moved on to full size trucks or just would rather live life away from the computer.

That being said there is tons of information about standard questions like this with (yes i know) a little bit of searching.
