I went to my local "auto recycler" the other day and they quoted me $100 each for spring packs and $55 each for torsion bars. I have no idea which spring rates they are. I know the price will vary by area but are they really that expensive? What's fords price?

 

Wow those are some outrages prices for used parts. At the yards here leaf packs are only $25 a piece and torsion bars are $15 a piece. On ebay you can pick up the torsion bars brand new for between $75 and $150 and leaf springs for $150 a piece with free shipping. But if you're gonna be replacing leaf springs, you should go ahead and swap explorer leaf spring packs in and ditch the blocks in the rear and get #1 bars in the front.
