wow you used a hammer and the other guy used a floor jack.
2 hacks posting in one thread, a new low for ranger-forums!
you need to use a ball joint press, not using it makes one risk egg shaping the hole and ruining the control arm.
i dought it will last very long.
oh crap i am ASE certified. dont listen to me i dont know what i am talking about.

like i stated in post above, you need a press to ensure the joint goes in straight.
i have seen the results of the hack way like above, what happens is the ball joint becomes loose in the hole and before you knowing it the tire is worn out.
the funny thing is you can BUY cheap presses at harbor freight for 30 bucks.
of course from my professional view i wouldnt use the china made presses, rather my matco unit
