Whats the advantage of lockers?

My soon to be ranger has new lockers on the front? what is the advantage to having these?

Is it just to keep them in locked position?

Are you talking about locking hubs or lockers that go in the axle?

Front lockers enable you to get stuck in the more difficult to get into/out of places.

Front lockers is what I meant. I'll have them on the truck I am buying.

As far as how they work I'm clueless. Do I have to be locked in 4 wheel before I turn the switch on the hubs. Sorry for the ignorance. i have always had automatic 4x4 on my landcruisers.

your talking about hubs, manual hubs. Lockers are a completely different thing and its going to get people confused. You don't need to lock them in before you put it in 4x4 but you won't have it unless you do.
