its cool man and in the end, its your truck, but I like to think I knw a good amount about four wheeling and rigs, and when you go outside your boundaries, its not fun.
EDIT: BTW my goal is abuot 5 inch suspension, and 35s and ill be able to do a whole hell of a lot. Hell i was runnin with some really modded jeeps the other day and they only did one line i wouldnt attempt. so with good driving and such a setup, you'll get REALLY far!

not out but not recommended...
you have it good, u have a focus as your DD, Gil and i rely on our trucks daily. maybe one reason we dont want to go bigger than 35s. but if ya go bigger eveen if you beef it up you still have a good chance its gonna break.
upgrading to SAS makes things easier in a since your not relying on that IFS. idk im bias.

Truthful I think both of you guys are way out of your league trying to tell him to not run bigger tires on his truck, when truthful neither one of you really know how the truck is going to react with bigger tires, zabeard has 33's and supergildo only has 35's. I have 39.5 x 15 tsl bias super swampers on my truck that have been on since feb of this year, and before that I had 35 x 12.5 pro comp mud terrains on for 6 months, I drive my truck everyday, including on the highway, I make a 145 mile trip each way back home every other weekend, since the lift and tires I have put 24k miles on my truck, and I have had no problems with any part of the truck other than premature brake pad wear, and bad gas mileage. The only modifactions that I have made to the truck is a brake pad, rotor, drum, and brake booster upgrade, just gives me alittle bit better stopping power, and the only reason that I did that is because I tow I new holland tractor around on ocassions. All of my drivetrain is stock, including the rear axle that is a 8.8 with 4.11'2, I have no trouble with accleration or cruising speeds, my truck will ride on the highway at 2500rpm at 80mph, supergildo not everybody takes their doors off of their truck and goes rock crawling, so if he wants to run bigger tires then that is his problem, he just asked for drivetrain information. Ranger1, I think that that as long as you are aware of the fact that you have oversized tires on your truck, if you choose to run bigger tires, you will be ok, just dont try to go and pull a big F-350 or something like that out of the mud if you have big tires, that will kill your axle's and trainy, and if your truck is a auto just take it out of overdrive when you go offroading. With bigger tires you just have to be aware of the fact that you are driving a big truck not a sports car, so no spinning your tires and trying to race and you will be ok. Here is a pic of my truck with the 35's on next to my buddy edge with 39.5's and sas, then a pic of my truck with 39.5's and still have the torsion bars.

haha so owned.
about youre setup, come back when you get to 50k miles and we'll talk.
oh and next time youre in colorado, call me. Ill take you out on some trails and we'll se how your 39s with stock 8.8 fare.
Oh and BTW, overdrive is is 5th gear, I hope you dont make it to fifth gear when you offroad.
EDIT: LASTLY, i like your buddies ranger, but if hes the one with the d30, tell hm to come to colorado with you. we can start a chalkboard counting how many shafts we break.

lol, this thread is funny.
on a side note, why do u think Jey is investing so much $$ upgrading the dana 44 he has? 38s are a lot of stress for even a well built 44. a dana 35s components are 2/3 the size of a dana 44 and thats pushing it.
i know there heavier with larger engines but why do u think so many whelers with broncos and f150s like mine swap a dana 60 up front with 38s or bigger?
also, the guy with a 2wd, heh...u made urself look silly. u had good intention but ur out in left field.
and yes, rangers with TTB have good old steering boxes. the TTB front on a ranger or fullsize makes it 10x easier. one can do a SAS in a weekend on a TTB truck easily with parts ready.
i hate to say it man, but id look for a beater truck. maybe an early 80s bronco or blazer. hack the fenders and run 35 or 38s. just a suggestion.

You have to get custom steering anyhow, note someone from RRORC did that SAS steering job. A Scout or old Toyota steering box will work fine.
If you want to run coils, weld up coil buckets and your linkage, if not, build some spring hangers.
That looks ridiculous. Street Queen at its finest. There is a limit to everything, and you have surpassed it.
