I don't care what you got, 4x4, lockers, gears, or the biggest suspension lift ever if your diff is hung up and your tires are not touching the ground you wont move, and the only thing that is going to help is a winch.

You still dont understand that everything has to be a balance. Yuo cant have such big tires that if the suspension moves at all theyll rip off the fenders, or snap shafts like toothpicks. Obviously if you hang up on your diff your gettin nowhere fast, but thats why you drive well and KNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES. wheeling isnt all abut putting the biggest goddang tires that you can drive on in a straight line. not EVEN close...

Looks to me that he handles his own in some nasty stuff.
Some people may want to do a SAS for rock, like im sure Gil would, but then theres others that want it for the mud. Just because he doesnt have to much clearance doesnt mean his truck wont preform. It just wont preform to your standards and prefferences off road.
You can also find more pics of him flexing, and his new front axle and t/c waiting to go on, on his website in his sig.

If you have front and rear lockers and 3 inches of lift, you can wheel most of Tellico on 31s. Seen it.

downsouthTAS, i agree...its a street queen. oh he can splash through a puddle...if ur wanting a good wheeling rig then lock the front and rear, run 33 or 35s, get some lift and learn how to tranverse the terrain.
do what u want, we warned u why u shouldnt. im done with this thread.

Ok heres my very last response to this thread and I am also done.
There will always be somewhere that you cant go. thats just the way t is. Four wheelng is not about going everywhere. Its about pushing your capabilities and your rigs capabilities until, well until never. you will always be able to push your rig to newer heights and If it was all about going everywhere, guys with tons of money would buy the biggest tires possibly made, put them on fully custom rigs and you know what, even then they have limits. they will still break things, they will still not be able to go places. four wheeling is NOT! about the destination its the journey. Its about gettng outside, its about workin on your ride until the late hours of the night and gettnig back up and working on it some more, its about meeting other people who love what you love, its about overcoming the adversity of the path you take, its about breathing the air on a nice fall day watching the sun go down and learning thats what life should be about.
If you realize that there will always be someone with a better rig and a better driver and with bigger tire and always be somewhere you cant drive, you'll understand why you should just stick to a good combination of equipment and wonderful day of wheeling.
try it, you might be surprised...
PEACE!!

I think its just we do different types of wheeling, mudding in wharton is a lot different then rock crawling, or whatever else you guys do. When I made this post I didn't have an understanding of drivetrains and now i do, now I realize what my truck can and can't handle and what needs to be done inorder to get my truck to the level i want it on.
