3in BL want 33s

3in BL want 33s

my plans are to do a 3in BL soon on the truck and want to add some 33" tires... my question is can i get 33's for the stock 16 in alloy rim or do i need new rims... if so what size do i need... or should i just get new rims.. if so i really like teh look of the mickey thompson classic II rims should i go with a 15 or a 16 and what size should i get... i really kno not to much about tire sizing and offest and all that any help would be great

yeah you can get 33's for 16in rims,but it's really up to you rather you want new rims or not,perfect size would be 33x12.50 no larger than that on a stock rim

33's will work fine with 16's.

so if im understanding this correctly first number is height second is width and third obiviously is the rim size... what is the width of the stock rim does that matter in buy new tires

Stock wheels are 7" wide. 285/75R16 and 305/70R16 are equivalent to a 33" tire for 16" wheels. 285's are 11.2" wide and 305's are 12" wide.

so ive got 245/75/16's on there now adding 33's wont give me any additional ground clearance?

Yes, about 1.2".

BFG AT's, Falken ATS, and Nitto Terra Grappler's are good.

what would look best with the 3in b/l i really only want to upgrade my tires because ive been reading it looks dumb without bigger tires... my current tires are bfg at a really nice tire with no more than a couple thousand miles on em

also keep in mind..muds look badass, but they suck more gas and and bit of a rougher ride
