Also, I like your idea about the wheels. I was looking to purchase new black rims, but I don't think I can find any that are under $50 a wheel. I would most likely need the same size wheel, so why buy new rims right? I can powder coat the stock ones black and put larger tires on them. Is $50 per wheel about right for powder coating?

Check out Reliable Powdercoating in Downey. THey did some for me on my Galaxie for $35 a wheel. Great work.

Youll have to take your TPMS off first, that wont survive the oven. Which means youll need to get new bands...... Id just paint the wheels.

Did you also ever think about going with another stock wheel setup off of the Sports? We have slightly larger tires than the XL's. 235/75 15s versus... 225 70s? i forget whats in your truck.

I have a 2006 Ranger XLt regular cab 2.3L 4cyl manual 2wd. And I have 30x9.5x15 BFG's. I do a lot of highway. It is a little slow but not by much I don't mind. I still use 5gear on the highway. I am able to get 80 mph on the highway. I just got a ticket doing 84mph. Will post pic later. Its fast enough for me.

Yeah you can run the 31's without a lift but it looks alot beefier with it!! If your on a budget the 3" bl would be the cheaper route than suspension, and the 31's would look really good and your only lookin at buyin a BL, tires, and a few dollor for the rattle cans of flat or satin black paint, and you would have a really nice beefy lookin truck......

example:
3" BL- $140-$160
or
3" Spindles- $460
drop shackles- $30-$60

2wd, 3" BL, 31x10.5x15 stock rims.....
