I am getting ready to buy tires i will have the money by the weekend. I need an opinion. I will have plenty to buy BFG All Terrains but i have heard that they are over priced and arent worth it. I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for another tire that will ware well, and still look aggressive. I dont know that much about other brands of tires so any input will be greatly appriciated

 

I had Dunlop Radial Rovers on my old ranger. Those things kick ***. Mud and snow, they never failed me. Much cheaper than BFG and they look good to. A lot of people I know bought them on my recomendation and are quite happy as well.

 

I'm a huge BFG fan but my next tire will be the Cooper SST (or is it STT...I can't remember).

 

Ok first what kind of ranger you have....xlt 2wd, xlt 4x4 16" wheels 15" wheels a little bit of stats would really HELP alot here. also what are your driving habits. offroad alot/ alot of street/ alot of highway. i need info here.

and i had cooper tires and switched to BFG A/T and I LOVE these tires and for my next truck i will get them again. I have alot of snow here and the just ROCK in snow its great. also you can get over 60000+ on these tires one member here has 85000+ and still has thread on it. to me there kick *** A/T tire




if you want the mudder that I had is the STT if you want the hibrid a/t m/t then its the S/T

 

I have got the exact same dilemma..... I do some off roading, but I do even more highway driving.... Trying to find that balance of look and performance off road, but something that is decent on interstates and hangs in there for some decent useage...

 

Cooper makes good tires......I love my Pro-Comp A/T's.... ;-)

 

I have seen lots of people with BFG AT's and MT's off-road and never seen a problem.

Food for thought I assume you have stock 16" wheels, if you can buy a set of 15" wheels cheap like $100 you will save money if you buy 31x10.5x15 BFG AT's or MT's over the equvilent 265x75x16(I think what ever= 31 or 33 either way the tire about the same size is more money for 16" rims). I priced it, it works. 265x75x16 are about $30 more per tire over 31x10.5x15.

 

i just got buckshot mudders, love them, but only had them a week so far, they are a good price too.

 

Here are the two that I am having a rough time deciding between them. At the Cooper dealer here there is only like a 10 difference with the Mickey Thompson MTX over the Discover ST

Call tire shops in your area for a quote. First determine what 4 would cost, plus shipping, from Tirerack and mention that price to the local shops if they quote you a higher price.

i went with bridgestone dueler revo's a/t.. so far they've worn great. i dont off road that much at all, mainly do highway driving, so they're good for what i needed. they held up great in the snow last winter too.
