New wheels and tires...need lift opinion!
New wheels and tires...need lift opinion!
Recently purchased mickey thompson classic II's 16x10 and wrapped them with 285-75-16 BFG A/T KOs.
I have Rancho rs5000 shocks up front with t-bars cranked to the max.
I currently do not have any sort of lift in the back, which is my issue.
Should i put shackles in or should i get new blocks and u-bolts?
And other opinions of what else i should to the truck to would be great!

shackles. I agree. not to sound cheap but your local auto store carries them for cheap. (we have advance auto down here in the south, unsure of company name in the north). something like 40$, no name brand but they are identical to the expensive beltechs
Shackles. Even if you're used to the stiffer ride of the maxed bars, why go with the stiffer option for the rear if you don't have to?
Nice wheel & tire choice, BTW. Will look good with a little more lift.
And for another opinion of what to do with the truck, swap the t-bars our for coilovers.
The right coilovers up front and shackles in the back will give you lift and a decent ride.

Remove your factory front shocks, install the brackets (requires a few holes drilled in the lower control arm and shock tower for the bolts), and install the coilover shocks.
Highly recommended: weld gussets to shock towers and frame for reinforcement (just two flat pieces of steel on each side of the vehicle)
limit straps (depending on the style you get, it requires welding the mounts in place or drilling mounting holes for bolts in lower control arm and side of frame rail).
Here is a good place to start.
There's also an install thread from ORW, who used to make a kit here
Hope that helps.

LOL. Hey man, I have a few sets still from the last run I'd like to move, but I would recommend the conversion even if I didn't sell the parts. I've loved mine since I put them in. Definitely my favorite mod to date.
I know a guy selling some brand new shackles still in the box for a good price lol.
