Rim sizes on 04 FX4's???

Ive looked at my truck with the stock 16's on it and it doesnt look like a 15 will fit on the front because of the calipers. Mine is an 04 FX4. I really dont see too many people on here running 16s though. is it just me or do the 04's gotta have 16's or bigger?

Most people don't run aftermarket 16's because the tires are more expensive for a 16" wheel than a 15" wheel.

I got alcoas on my 07. Same size brakes as yours. Some guys have some caliper fitment issues with 15" rims. I think it depends on the backspacing.

Most aftermarket 15" rims will fit. Stockers usually don't. Plus like Tim said, backspacing plays a big part. Factory is 4.5" and numerically lower backspacing distances will push the wheel away from the hub/caliper.

I personally like the look of 16's... Yes tire prices suck, but its not like you have to buy tires every year, a good set should last you atleast 3-5 years.

3.75 backspacing max if you go aftermarket. After that you monkey up ball joints and such

yes the factory alcoas will fit, if that's what you're asking.

i have a 2006 FX4 that came with 16s, and i have a set of 15" wheels (factory level II wheels) in my basement that do indeed clear the caliper.
