Spare Tire Maximum Diameter
Hey all, looking into lifting my 2010 Ranger 4x4 Sport. Clearly the next step is bigger tires! However, I'm uncertain as to whether the 31.7" tires I'm looking at would fit in the spare location. Is it worth investing in a full size spare if it does fit? I have read people have managed to fit a 31". Came with stock tow package hitch.
Thanks for your time and insight!

Not sure on the max diameter that will fit but you don't need same size spare even on a 4WD, 1 smaller diameter tire can be used in place of any of the wheels without effecting 2WD or 4WD operation, just not 2 of a different size on the front or rear when using 4WD
You can go here to see frame rail dimensions: https://www.therangerstation.com/sto...er-dimensions/
Measurement "J" shows 2010 Ranger at 32.8" rear frame width...........outside edge, so if frames are 1.5" width you would be looking at 30" maybe
But tire doesn't have to go all the way up
