first of all, not to undermine bob or anything, but the explorer was my vehicle from more than a year before that picture was taken until it was returned to the dealer when the lease ran up. I bought those bfg all terrains, as well as a full size spare, blew one, and purchased a 6th bfg a/t to replace it. all 6 were on the explorer at some point in time.
none of the tires were out of round.
it's no theory that they make an audible hum at low speeds... its actually pretty much widely agreed. before i buy anything, i always do extensive research. while i researched the bfg a/t's, the noise at low speeds was no mystery. as any sensible consumer would, i decided to sacrifice a silent ride for the performance of the tires.
you say you never hear any difference in sound between the bfg a/t's and a stock tire? either pull your fingers out of your ears, or actually pay attention.

I guess road noise is a subjective thing. (Whodathunkit?!) What is an annoying low speed hum to some is barely audible and of no consequence to others. I agree that the BFG AT makes some noise.. However I do not think it is annoying, troublesome, or even a 1/4 of the noise your average MT tire makes.
The BFG AT tire is wildly popular. You've gotta wonder why. Me, I think it's 'cause it's a pretty decent all around tire. Kinda like our trucks, it's a good middle of the road, jack of all trades kinda product.
