Thanks Zach. They don't look *too bad*. But.. considering how sharp they looked at Thanksgiving.. I'm not impressed.

Sometime this summer I'll strip the zoops off and just repolish then keep them waxed.

they dont look great that is for sure. Sorry to see that. Maybe after a good clean you should get them clear coated or powder coated?

Ug.. I went through one car wash in Jan. Otherwise.. it's not really worth it up here in motown. I drive at least 70miles a day in commuter traffic. Shoot.. just 10 miles and my truck looks bad. I live on paved roads.. by 50% of the poeple in my area don't. The mud out on the freeway is horrible. (only in michigan)
I usually wash the cars really good and wax them at thanksgiving. Then I usually have a day in Jan where I fire up the heater and wash them again. (didn't this year) Then in April-may I'll wash them good and wax. During the warmer months it's much drier and I'll wash them every other week or so.

Powder coat.. ug.. this is what I did at first! That was a huge pain in the rear. The guy who was going to do them couldn't, pointed me at another guy, who then messed them up, had them acid stripped (twice), re-polished, and wound up costing me $100 + three trips to his "shop".

To do this all over again. I'd just buy the wheel from summit, buy a mothers power ball, some mothers billet polish, and then go to town on them. When finished, wash real good with a mitt and dish soap. Then wax them 3-4 times.

On this "project" I thought I was trying to be smart by coating them to prevent oxidation and staining. Only thing I oxidized and stained was my wallet and head.

it cant be that much better here in Indiana. I mean I know it seems useless to wash them in the winter but I still do.

Sucks you went through such a hassle to get them prepped for winter and it didnt work out.

I just used some spray on rim Armorall rim cleaner on mine today and wiped them down and they came out a hell of a lot better than they were. They shine now. Wasn't the proper stuff to use for them, but it was quick and not too labour intensive.

Looks like I found the update on this thread a little late...

Thanks for the update Rich, I'm glad I stayed away from ordering the Zoopseal. I'm sticking to the ol' 000 steel wool and polish, guess there's no substitute for elbow grease.
