stuck on this one, check engine light and surging

ok i,ve had this problem for at least a year. check engine light, the code says running lean on banks one and two. ive had a guy check the oxygen sensors with some fancy snap on computer and he said all the oxygen sensors are working correctly, and i had all new vacume lines put on when i rebuilt the engine. cleaned the maf if that helps for anything. sooo any ideas?

newest problem when i get on it hard and it shifts to the next gear the truck surges hard till i let off the gas, pretty much like its not firing right. this just started so i have no idea if it has thrown a code. i know that need to be checked just thought i would throw it out there and see if anyones had a similar problem.

all help is appriciated
matt

You have a vaccum leak...intake gaskets are a good shot on that engine.

Should have said that. Either get another opinion or get your own code reader.

yeah im hoping or more opinions actually... every little bit helps bc it could be a number of things. i have a scanner and it still is telling me the engine is running lean.
problems:
1 running lean
2 surges when i floor it and it shifts into the next gear
3 runs like crap when i first crank it up in the morning

So it's running lean...it's either too much air or too little fuel. There isn't a whole lot of options.

I had a similar problem. Replaced the EGR valve, EGR sensor, EGR Solenoid, and cleaned the EGR tube to the manifold. Also, check the purge valve and hoses running to the throttle body.

Did you torque the intake when you replaced the gaskets?

Be sure and check your purge valve and all the hoses coming out of it. My check engine light didn't even come on and it was a problem that existed. The hose on the bottom side of the throttle body was really bad. It's kind of hard to find it at first, but mine was dry rotted big time.
