Swap help

So I got a 97 ranger as a gift it has no tranny at the moment was a 4 banger 5speed wanna do a v8 5speed swap but can't find the easiest motor to do. I want as little wiring as possible and want it to basically slip in and prefer to just buy what parts I need to bolt together and not have to make much and I'm willing to go carb if need be due to this being my summer only truck

The Ford 302(5.0l) are a popular choice for Ranger V8 conversions, and they can be swapped to carb and distributor operation, so no computer needed.

Although EFI and electronic ignition is miles better
