TroubleShooting Help!

I bought a cheap sub/amp combo today and got it installed and hooked everything up, but it doesn't work. I checked the ground and the remote wire. I also checked the settings on my HU.What do I need to check next?

Thanks for the help!
Mike

There is power to the amp. is the light you are refering ti the little LED that is supposed to be green? If so, yes, but it's red.

It also makes one thump noise when the HU first turns on, but that's it.

If its red than the protect is on...it should be green if everything ok. You have a short or something touching that should not be. Power wire exposed, amp turned up too high, for me it was always one of the two.

I you have a couple of feet of power wire try hocking up the amp right by your battery and see what it does to test it. Could also be a bad amp.

Went out and wiggled some wires today and it works, sounds good too, but the LED is still red and it's supposed to be green.

If it works when you wiggled the wires then you have a bad connection

It's good now. I have had it on for the last 3 days and it's been fine, even did some ruff stuff off road and it didn't stop. Maybe something wasn't pushed in all the way or something. Thanks for the help.
