Swapping from manual to auto trani

So I am looking into finding the parts for doing a 4x4 swap. I got a hell of a deal on my truck and it's not worth it to sell it for a 4x4, but I was told I will have trouble finding a 4x4 3.0 manual trani so I will take a auto trani if it has low KM's on it. What will I need to do the swap other then the trani?

Also I am not asking what parts I would need to get because I would probably get a doner truck, I am asking what would need to be swapped.

You will need the trans and if converting from a manual to automatic you will need a 3.0 engine harness from an automatic and the computer. Since the computer needs changed you will encounter a pats issue. The truck will not run until its programmed with your key codes or you will need the ignition and keys from the donor truck. Additionally if you are going with an electric transfer case you will need to change the dash harness and you will need a gem module(with or without power doors depending on your truck).

To do it the easy way you will need a manual trans and transfer case, that will save all the wiring issues. You can add wires and a 4wd cluster if you want the dash indicators for the 4wd.

One other note. When you go to bolt the front axle under your truck you may or may not have the rear differential mount that is welded to the frame. Everything else bolts in.

Alright thanks alot! Also my Ranger is an 05 and it doesn't have a Pats key or what ever it is so would I have any issues? Like since my truck doesn't use a Pats key would I need to get the keys or could I just use the stock ones?

It probably depends on the replacement computer but I thought all the newer trucks had pats even if its not loaded with power options.

I thought you just needed the tailhousing from the 4x4 transmission and you could keep your current transmission?
And personally I would search out a manual transfer case. No sense in adding more electronics and swapping computers and everything.
