Rear end questions

Just wanted to say hi and that I am new here. I have a 2009 ford ranger sport that I bought new .it has a 373rear end. But recently I bought a 2002 Mazda b4000 which has 410 gears with a limited slip.I'm thinking about changing the rear limited slip out of it into my ranger. My question is can I take the pumpkin out of both and remove just the ring gear and place it on the limited slip pumpkin and reinstall into my 09 ranger. Or will it not work. I know that there a cuff off in which pumpkins you can do this but not sure what they are. Any help is appreciated. And do I need anything to ensure my gear lashes. I was told by a friend that if i place my ring gear o. The limited slip pumpkin I should just reinstall my spacers exactly the way that they came out of it and they should work fine. Any help is appreciated

Welcome to the forum

No, you should redo the ring and pinion setup, but you could just plug and play, and "hope for the best"

Assuming both are 8.8" of course, Rangers also came with 7.5", the B4000 would for sure have 8.8"

You could swap the whole axle, assuming both are 2WD, but you would be changing ratios
