A FEW QUICK QUESTIONS? FROM A NEWBIE
SORRY IF THIS AINT THE PLACE TO POST THIS
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AROUND ALOT AND HAVE LEARNED ALOT BUT...
IM JUST LOOKING TO GET A COUPLE ?'S ANSWERED FROM SOME SEASOND VETS
MY TRUCK IS A 2006 FX4 LEVEL II
1. IT WENT FROM 31X10.5 INCH TIRES (STOCK) TO 33X12.5 SHOULD I RE-GEAR?
OR WILL A TUNER/CHIP OR WHAT EVER BE ENOUGH.. OR SHOULD I DO BOTH
AND IF SO WHAT BRAND OF TUNER OR GEARS DO YOU RECOMEND??
2. IM WANTING TO GET NEW RIMS, IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE TO 15 INCH RIMS OVER 16?
THERE SEEMS TO BE A BIGGER SELECTION OF WHEELS IN THE 16 INCH
SO I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS ANY REASON I SHOULD STAY WITH 15'S
3. MY TRUCK WAS ORDERD AND OWNED BY A FORD DEALER THEN SOLD AT AN AUCTION
TO A SUBARU DEALER THEY ONLY HAD IT FOR A COUPLE DAYS
WHEN I BOUGHT IT, ITS ALL ON CAR FAX, POINT IS...
I THINK IT HAS HAD MOTOR CRAFT OIL IN IT ITS WHOLE LIFE,
I DONT KNOW FOR SURE BUT IT WAS OWNED BY A FORD SHOP ITS WHOLE LIFE
AND THE STICKER IN THE WINDOW SAYS FORD MOTOR CRAFT
(STILL GOT A FEW THOUSAND BEFOR IT NEEDS CHANGED)
SO MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I STAY WITH THAT OIL, OR DO YOU RECOMEND SOMTHING ELSE?

Larger tires regear if you dont have 4.10's
Tuner is good if you want performance gains from the truck and if you plan to do exhaust and such
15" rims are cheaper than 16" rims and the tires will be diffrent price also
When built it has motorcraft from the factory so unless some one changed it before u got it it probably has motorcraft

1. No need to re-gear. Maybe if you go up to 35s. I ran 3.73 gears with 33's and it was fine. 4.10's will seem normal.
2. No advantage or disadvantage really. Other then 16s being more expensive. I suppose if you really wanted to do some customizing you could fit larger Brake rotors in their but if you wanted to do something like go with 18s and get some nice big brakes.
3. Personally, I'll always use AmsOil in all my cars and trucks. I like being able to go 15k per oil change and I've never had issues with an engine that was running it.
