FUEL LINE SNAPPED, 2000 RANGER 3.0
I got this 2000 Ranger with a 3.0 auto, I been literally replacing everything that needs to be done & alot of up keep...now when putting in a cold air filter setup with my step dad we noticed that one of the metal braided fuel lines was snapped in half & the previous owner ghetto rigged it by using a peice of rubber tube & jamming it on both sides of the metal braided line to make a connection, which now i understand why I smell gas & have No real fuel pressure until after it runs for a couple minutes...here's pictures & my question is what kinda replacement hose is supposed to be used? I PUT 2 HOSES I FOUND W/ PICTURES CAN THESE BE USED?

No those will not work, wrong connections
Yes, bad splice, 2000 Ranger runs 65psi pressure
All Ranger fuel lines are Nylon 5/16", metal sleeve is added to protect it in work areas and higher heat areas like engine bay
You can get repair kits for 5/16" Nylon hose, Dorman sells them
You can also get 5/16" nylon with steel braid, cut to length, and Dorman has the Ford connectors so you could build your own new line
You need to soak the ends in HOT water to soften the nylon so it will stretch over the connector/splice
Heat gun works as well but not on lines with gasoline still inside, lol, so flush them
Wrecking yard would be best bet to get the full hose from filter to engine with correct connectors, these don't "wear out" but can be broken, lol
