Runs better when full

When I fill my tank up with gas, The truck seems to run better than it was before. It seems to have more power and acceleration (doesn't have to be floored).
Does anyone else notice somthing like this and is it a sign of a bad fuel filter?

maybe because the truck is heavier with all that gas in it?

as compared to half a tank or compared to it on E. when its on E its not going to run as well because of all the gunk that settles in your tank as well as the low level isnt ideal for the fuel pickup

I think your butt dyno is wrong. It's kind of like when you change your oil and it feels like you have 20 more horsepower.

Its not a traction issue even though there is a difference. It seems like the engine puts out more power.

My fuel milage has also took a dive from 12.5-12.7 down to only 12.0mpg and this is after driving like an old lady since last fillup and installing manual hubs.

Either, it is noticeable from half a tank down.

May be a condensation problem.Try a couple cans of drygas through it and see if it helps.
As the level of gas drops in the tank it's pulling damp air in during the day, and at night when the temperature goes down , the moisture collects on the sides of the tank. Then runs down and collects in the bottom.
When you fill up the water gets stirred up and diluted somewhat with the gas for a while.

I notice this as well, truck runs amazing on a full tank of premium, but ****hole on E.

I guess it's common sense if anything...

That makes sense. I heard it is a problem with long tem storage especially with 10% ethanol. It is warm here in the day but cold by night.

I experience this at times. I think that it has to do with the weight. I think that with all the weight of the gas on the back axle it helps plant power to the asphalt better.

^ The weight does allow me to accelerate quicker fom a stop but I rarely floor it that hard to break traction(asphalt), even on Empty.

The weight makes a little bit of a difference I am sure but I would think that it is just as simple as the fuel pump has more fuel a lot more readily available so its not working as hard and its putting enough gas to the engine rather than just skimmin the bottom and as said before getting all the gunk.
