E85 FFV 1st run - 2 questions

2000
3.0
FFV

I saw E85 is like 2.80 here yesterday and this will be the first time the truck has seen corn gas in 182,000 miles.

1. should I even do it? mix it with gas?

2. I know it cleans the fuel system wonderfully but will it loosen lodged up crap and send it to my injectors and clog them?

like I said, 1st time dealing with this stuff.

well it can do alot of harm, and your MPG will blow as it has a very low BTU rating, so it doesnt get much power.

I heard that, but with the FFV equipment on the truck doesnt it pump a bunch more fuel faster to level out HP even give a few more?

I've been using E20 in my truck that is not rated for anything over E10 (4.0l). I haven't noticed anything yet. 20k continuous miles of use. I only have 103K on my truck. You have a fuel filter. Run a couple tanks though and change the fuel filter.

With a FFV truck and the CEL is not on then you can run whatever you want. If you have over 100k on it now the injectors are already gummed up.

Mileage will be slightly worse.

UPDATE: bought the corn gas!

I did 11 gallons of the funky fuel and nearly 3 gallons of the normal 87. Runs fine for now, requires a few more revolutions of the starter to turn over and run. havent noticed any lurching, starvation of fuel or excess of fuel so for now its fine.

price: 3.32 cent a gallon - corn
3.78 cent a gallon - 87 oct
