1988 2.3 inline 4 with only 4 s, gets power to coil but wont send power to distributo
My friend came over and he went to move his truck and it started right up he put it in reverse and went to realse the clutch and once he got it going it just shut off its was like the same thing my 350 chevy did was going down the road and it just suddenly quit like I turned the key off and it was the icm was wondering if it was the icm or ecu ecm on this ranger but cant seem to locate reliable source of info it's hard to find post in regards to the 85 to 88 lema engine that has 4 spark plugs and not the 2 coil pack bs was hoping I would get some answers from someone more knowledgable

The distributor should have an ICM on its side, called the TFI module
TFI module connects to Coil negative and tells coil when to spark
TFI modules come in 4 types
On distributor or remote mounted
Black or Grey color
The colors can not be interchanged, different wiring
On the Lima engines the timing belt can break at any time, causing no start no spark, see if distributor is turning, or if cam is turning
