Does anyone know where the oil pressure switch is on a 2.3L ranger? Ive looked at different videos and forums and everyones is different

 

You have a 2.3l DOHC Duratec 4cyl engine in a 2002 Ranger, 2001 to 2011 Rangers

Ranger's used 2.3l SOHC Lima engine from 1983 to 1997 so searching for info using "Ranger 2.3l" can get confusing results

On the 2.3l Duratec engine it should be on the oil filter housing, look just above oil filter should be green connector

 

You can remove it while under the truck, it will be pointing towards the rear of the engine.

Do it during an oil change. Also, expect at least a cup or two of oil to come out when you do so, just as a heads up. The new sensor should come with thread sealant on it

Do not apply any more sealant to the sensor, it requires a metal-metal contact as it is a switch-to-ground and is grounded through the engine block.
