Hoping to add cruise control. I know the engine harness is different, but do I also need to swap the dash/cab harness?

If you're going for factory, don't forget the steering column and steering wheel.

An aftermarket kit would be easier.

3rd party if starting from scratch

The Factory Cruise is fairly self contained, just the one Unit in the engine bay has the controller and actuator/cable to open throttle
The extra cab wiring comes from the steering wheel controls and the safety controls

 

What aftermarket kits do you recommend? I’ve tried a couple in the past, but neither worked that well.

 

I've never installed cruise on a car, I have no idea who would be a good one.

 

Ah ok. I’ve installed a couple Rostra kits in the past and they’re finicky at best. That’s why I’m trying to add OEM cruise control. If I can’t add OEM cruise I’ll just sell the truck and try to find another one.
