there might be air in your abs module

i would see if you could get a mobile mechanic to come and bleed your breaks

shouldnt be too expensive

i wouldnt drive your truck until you get it fixed

I bled my master cylinder with it in the truck is that ok? My brake feels harder now but still goes to the floor. Should I bleed the brakes now again?

I wouldn’t drive it unless that pedal is firm

if you really need your truck then look up how to bleed abs module

your pedal is soft because your master cylinder tries to put pressure in the system but the air compressed and your pedal goes to the floor

I’m honestly not sure I’ve never had to bleed my abs module

just see if you can find another forum or a tutorial on YouTube

Is this my abs module? They said basically do the same thing as regular brakes. Hold pedal then crack the lines.

Yea i remember now. When I was done putting the master cylinder back on i pressed the brakes fluid leaked out. So it sucked air in there.

That’ll do it

u don’t want ANY air

like I said air compresses under pressure

when you press your breaks it pressures everything from your master to your caliper

so if there’s air anywhere in between, your pedal will just sink when you press it because it’s collapsing the air and you your calipers don’t receive pressure so your breaks don’t work even tho you press the pedal.

y I advised you not to drive your truck

The tool bled my brakes great but the brakes still need to be changed. Last fix for my truck is the P0455 evap gross leakage. I don't know where to start

Sorry for the late response

evap systems job is to basically not let gas fumes from your gas tank get to the atmosphere where it pollutes

so when there’s pressure in your gas tank the evap system tells the valve to open. It let’s gas fumes get sucked through vacuum line and into your intake manifold where it gets sucked into the engine and burned

u can have a stuck open valve that just has to be replaced or you could have a leak

I have a p0455 and i took it to an autoshop they said they smoked the evap system and found nothing wrong. But in the past ive had the code and cleared and it came right back. Is there any ideas here on why i can get this evap leak code? The guy also said there smoke coming out the vent solenoid in the back of my truck he said that was normal? He also said loose battery terminal could cause it? Idk about that. I've replaced the gas cap a month ago but the code was still there.

You prob have a stuck open valve

Your gas cap is designed to only let air into the gas tank and not out

so if your evap valve is stuck open it’ll constantly be letting air into your engine. it’ll act like a vacuum leak but it won’t show up with a smoke test because technically it’s not a leak. but it’s letting large amounts of air into your engine that’s not getting metered by the mass air flow sensor

If they smoke tested it right and the valve is fine then there shouldn’t be any leaks

I think there’s only one valve if I’m correct

Well ****. They smoke tested it and said it was good. Idk why i've had this code and comes back every time i clear it. Maybe the 2002 ford ranger gets horrendous gas mileage.

Assuming your valve is ok and no leaks I would assume the last thing it could be would be fuel tank pressure sensor

All that means is the computer detects some kind of leak doesn’t necessarily mean it’s big

so if you have no foreign leak and not internal leak I think the last thing that it could be is what tells your computer it’s data

in reality if there isn’t a leak but your computer thinks there is it’s senses are wrong

fuel tank pressure sensor

Ok. When the purge valve is out of my truck i should not be able to blow air into the top part where the small hose goes right?
