I know the stock gauges are terrible. This spring i changed the coolant, flushed the block, new thermostat, new temperature sender, new temperature sensor. Heat always comes out sweating hot but the gauge never goes past 1/4. And some days the needle wont even go past the C! Wtf do i need to do?

I cant remember if i teflon taped the sender but i read it grounds through that so maybe i gotta unscrew it real fast and check?

Unplug the wire for the sender and Ground it, then turn on the key, temp gauge should spike to full HOT, if not then wire or gauge is the issue
If gauge does go to HOT , then wire and gauge are OK, sender is either bad or not fully grounded

I grounded the wire and the needle shot into the H. From the looks of it the sender only has the stock pipe dope on the threads, I didn't add teflon tape to it. I think there is a poor connection there because I modded the wiring because the OEM cap-style wire plug that sits on that nipple wasn't fitting on the sender I had. I ended up using a crimp loop connector and sandwiched it between two nuts on the sender nipple.

I think the Current Ford Temp Senders(not sensors) should read about 250-300 ohms cold(70deg), and 90 ohms warmed up(190deg)
