Common upgrades?
Not much...
I haven't done much. K&N airfilter (direct O.E.M replacement), Cherry Bomb Glaspack Muffler. I did have an air ram system but I got rid of it. looking a possible engine swap and having this engine rebuilt to go in a 1923 T-Bucket. of course this is the 4th engine in my ranger this year too.

I also switched back from Royal Purple 10W30 to Ford Motorcraft 10W30 as well.

well it gives you a small gain on a stock motor and its not a waste of money cause if you do decide to do something to the motor you have the mods to support it. duhhh
actually my truck has 4:10's in it and they came from the factory that way and my truck gets the same gas mileage regular rangers without the 4:10's get so i wouldn't necassarily say that your gas mileage will suffer
4.10's will decrease your hiway mileage, but increase your city mileage

didn't mean to start anything uhh, faster than you...
but to be honest, i would think an aftermarket cone filter would be better than the stock filter that is 10 years old. weather or not it would be k&n or something different.
