ya That's dumb! electric turbocharged? what? so it's at a constant speed when your idling or when you have it matted to the floor. The only difference would be air flow, isn't that what a standard air box achieves? I don't really understand?

1HP = 750 Watts roughly.

Kilowatts is the metric version of horsepower.

The First thing, the simulator makes the sound of a turbo, that high pitch screaming sound. A guy i work with bought one for his beater feista as a joke. It the funniest thing ever. It does kind of sound like he has a turbo on it, he trips out the local ricers.

As for the second link.
If you had an electric fan like that that could provide massive airflow and pressure like a super/turbocharger does it would work great.

Unfortunately that little POS isn't going to give you enough flow or pressure to move a good fart.

If it doesn't put out at least as much flow as the engines sucks in under vacuum you will loose power. An engineer I work with keeps talking about buying one and running flow test on it.

HotRod mag answered the "electric turbo" question with some real figures. I don't remember the numbers exactly, but what it came down to was that to provide enough airflow to gain real hp, you would need a ton of electrical power to run it, and to generate that power you would need a HUGE alternator, and to run that alternator, you would need a whole 'nother engine. I'll see if I can find it. It's pretty good.

Anyone who buys that and thinks they are doing something for their vehicle or thinks in the least bit they are cool. Should be punched in the dick.
