dude go buy some GUMOUT or something for the next time you hit E, then fill it up and drive again. buy a fuel filter. buy some spark plugs, maybe coil packs. idk...you need to fix that. You'll spend for parts what you are on gas right now if you keep going...

I'd start a help thread and see what people tell ya idk man. something's off, obviously.

is that yours in the avatar? with...33's? I mean, bigger tires throw your miles off a bit. not as much as you're dealing with. And is it AUTO or manual? cuz that makes a HUGE difference from what I've been observing.

edit>> guess I could have read your sig. But good guess by me yay. anyways, yeah, idk man, I'm thinking it's cuz you have a auto. is it city mileage? like stop and go, AC (no matter the setting), lots of idleing or what?

If I edit this post anymore I'm going to throwup...that's like 4 times now. haha

Theoretically within the warmer conditions, i did my MPG check and i am getting 18.9xxxx and i was at 3/4 of a tank when i did the fill up. so on paper I could get roughly 368 miles to a tank if I ran it to E and somehow made it to the station (because i like perfect situations). so within my 19.5 gallon tank i should be good. Weather permitting I get better MPG in the 80* range than i do the 60 - 70* range.

Ive never really taken the time to calculate my mpt, but I can say this
I filled my truck almost a month ago, and since then have driven the truck several times a week to run errands, usually all within a 15 mile radius and all city, but have also taken 4 or 5 trips to the city north of me, about a 40 mile round trip give or take a couple miles depending where I went while there.
and am now sitting between 1/4 and empty.

oh, Im definitely not driving anywhere near 250 miles a week, maybe 25-30, the furthest I drive is about 7 miles away to my mother in law's to drop off my son, and that is only 1 or 2 times a week.

Tires, auto, wear and tear, tune up, all affect the milage but the biggest problem is driving habits and the weight of the right foot.
If you like a fast take out to get up to speed then the milage suffers, if you like to pass quickly and the foot hits the floor boards then the milage suffers.

I can improve my milage just by attempting to keep a steady and not too heavy a foot.

23 mpg

Got 23 MPG this weekend out of my little 2003 XLT ranger using cruise control on the highway.

The MPG's went up by adding a fiberglass cap over the week before when I was getting 20 mpg.

Going to change all fluids over to synthetic (amsoil) at the next oil change. Hoping to get the MPG's up to twenty five mpg

been getting 20-21mpg...last fill up was about 290 miles and put 14.4 gallons in. This is driving 65-70mph, stock height tires, no lift and going up/down a good sized hill every day

When I want great gas mileage I drive like an old man. Easy on the gas from a stop. Drive the speed limit (that's hard). Some times I feel like having fun and enjoy the power not caring about mpg's.

oh I know what is wrong.

This happened to my jeep. Did a 3 inch lift and left the factory street tires on it until I could get the bigger tires. The week before the new tires I got 22mpg on the highway. The following week with the bigger tires BFG's AT 30 inchers the mpg dropped to 18 on the same trip. GPS verified that the speedo was correct.

I'm thinking that the off road tires add more friction on the road then the old street tires, this causing the drop in mileage. Let me be clear this is just my opinion
